Maternity

Synopsis

Maternity is a film about the fatigue of a mother of two small kids. The act of self-sacrifice for the sake of a child that absorbs all the time and leaves no space either for consumption or for satisfactions or vanity becomes a chance for a devoted woman in a state of the physical and emotional exhaustion to reach the transcendental state close to spiritual ecstasy. Lacking resources for proper functioning, her organism starts disassociating information and enters into a seeming madness, when the brain is unable to control thought process as usual, and because of a total focus solely on a child, all the rest in the world ceases to be of any importance, freeing her from everything excessive and superfluous.

Diaľnica desať

Synopsis

Memories of a never visited place being the leitmotif of the film, this cinematographic project is balancing on the thin border between memory and fantasy. The border is a place where it is difficult to distinguish a fantastic image of a real place from a fantasy of an imaginary place. Even if some places exist only in our memories, they are not necessarily mere fantasies. And the other way round, the image of a never visited place, can still be based on memories.

ALEPH ZETA ( XVII ): The Star

Synopsis

The main theme for the “story” is set up by the undefined, the precarious, the unpredictable state of the material. Filmed in remote areas of the Panama jungle and the Atacama desert, on untested and predominantly dead film stock. The project became a living object on its own, and the film/journey, an experiment on spontaneous synchronisation of uncertainties. The material is edited using another tool of uncertainty – the Tarot, and the narration is built upon and around two cards drawn from the deck.
